Psychologist at Marquette - 0.4 FTE (16 hpw)

Marquette Elementary

Purpose of the Position:


To serve as a School Psychologist at the district level to allow for flexible coverage of needs in individual buildings to cover any staffing shortages.

This position will also be directed to support district-wide evaluations including MMSD school-based, Private and Parochial or Early Childhood evaluations.


Essential Functions:


  • Special education evaluation and analysis/interpretation of assessment data
  • Section 504 evaluation and case management
  • Direct service delivery: social/emotional/behavioral interventions
  • Participation/facilitation of student problemsolving meetings
  • Facilitating data collection and analysis (e.g. social/emotional screening, functional behavioral analysis, violence risk assessment, designing behavioral intervention plans)
  • Serving as data resource to inform schoolwide practices (e.g. School-Based Leadership Team)
  • Familyschool collaboration services

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:


  • Education in the foundations of developmental, educational, and behavioral psychology
  • Education in pediatric psychopathology
  • Education in statistics and ethical administration of assessments
  • Capacity to serve on IEP teams as evaluator and/or LEA representative
  • Experience with testing, assessment data analysis, report writing, and delivering results to teachers and parents
  • Consultation and collaboration with families and teachers
  • Knowledge of diversity in development and learning
  • Understanding of research fundamentals and program evaluation
  • Sufficient foundational understanding of legal, ethical, and professional practice

Minimum Qualifications:


  • DPI certification in school psychology (License 62), license with stipulations, or equivalent provisional license
  • Master's degree in school psychology

Desired Qualifications:


  • DPI certification in school psychology (License 62)
  • Educational Specialist Degree (Ed.
S.) or Doctoral-Level Degree (Ph.
D) in school psychology


Reports to:
Sara Knueve, Coordinator of Student Services Teams


Other Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Support additional identified priorities of the Student and Staff Support Department
  • Serve as a member of the MMSD Restorative Critical Response Team
  • Other duties as assigned
