Director, Donor Reporting and Impact - Office of Advancement - Georgetown University

    Job Overview

The Director, Donor Reporting and Impact for Georgetown University is responsible for the annual reporting program for Georgetown's most generous donors. Central to this role is the development of a culture of gratitude throughout all collateral produced by the reporting team. The Director ensures maximum impact through reporting via close collaboration and relationship building with campus colleagues, instituting policies and procedures that create a streamlined reporting process. They will also lead a best-in-class reporting program by refining the current work and instituting new ideas where appropriate. The Director will manage a team of reporting specialists and create a cohesive and capable team to support reporting priorities.

With support and direction from the Senior Director of Stewardship, the Director provides oversight of all stewardship reporting programs - for both endowed and current use gifts across the university's campuses. The Director stewards donors from diverse backgrounds, including aligned and unaligned, international, multi-generational, young alumni, and others; supports Advancement's overall goal of pipeline engagement through stewardship; and plays a key role in furthering engagement and support.

    Work Interactions

The Director, Donor Reporting and Impact works with both internal and external constituents and is highly service-oriented. They work collaboratively with the entire development, communications, annual fund, and main campus staff to ensure effective donor-centered reporting with Georgetown donors.

The Director possesses a strong understanding of university and advancement policies and the ability to work with various campus stakeholders to foster consensus and implement strategic solutions for the benefit of the university and its donors. This objective necessitates a strong working relationship with CFOs and program administrators in various university departments, academic units, and the Provost's Office, as well as Development Officers to ensure that 1) funds are being spent according to donor intent, 2) the university systematically acknowledges the generous support of donors, regardless of where the gift is designated, 3) the university reports to donors on the impact of their gifts, and 4) as a result donors are primed to give again. As well, they interface with key donors and prospects, Development Officers, and the President's Office to ensure that our most generous donors feel appreciated and engaged with the vision of Georgetown.

The Director applies careful judgment and discretion due to the level of confidential information handled, as well as flexibility, efficiency, and the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines for the diversity of workloads and a wide variety of assignments.

Further, the Director is responsible for the continued meaningful involvement of Georgetown's donors in the life of the university. It is only with a consistent level of high quality and thoughtful points of contact, engagement, and accurate correspondence and reporting that these donors will continue to look to Georgetown as a place to give expression to their own values and philanthropic agendas.
