As an Assistant Teacher, you will work closely with the lead teacher to provide a nurturing and educational environment for our students.

Your role will involve assisting with implementing curriculum, implementing behavior management strategies, and supporting the overall growth and development of each child.

He/She must, to the best of his/her abilities, adhere to Principle I of the Code of Ethics of the American Montessori Society.

We are looking for someone who is willing to complete Montessori Teacher Training, which the school can help pay for.

• Carry out directives of the Head Teacher
• Take charge when the Head Teacher is unavailable
• Assist in daily preparation of the classroom
• Assist in caring for the environment
• Become familiar with materials
• Assist with daily activities (line time, hand washing, etc.)
• Present lessons as directed by the Head Teacher
• Reinforce all ground rules
• Model classroom expectations (behavior, voice level, manners, etc.)
• Use positive behavior management
• Prepare snack
• Assist children with soiled/wet clothing or diapers
• Report all accidents to Head Teacher; record them in the Accident Log
• Assist with daily closing activities (vacuuming, cleaning bathrooms, emptying trash, etc.)
• Attend all staff meetings and training programs as directed by Head Teacher and/or Director
• Attend school functions
• Assist with visitors/guests
• Answer the telephone in a pleasant manner

• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues
• Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of students
