Description_

Under the direction of the Center Director, the Food Worker handles the operation of the child care food service program for young children to include: menu planning, food ordering, preparation, food service and attendance to issues relating to environmental health, sanitation, and infectious disease control.
The job includes developing menus that meet the nutritional and developmental needs of young children in accordance with the USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), ordering all food and janitorial supplies needed in addition to maintaining contracts with food vendors.
Additionally, the Cook is responsible for determining families' eligibility for USDA Program participation, submitting monthly food service attendance counts and quarterly monitoring of all programs to ensure USDA preparation and distribution guidelines and agency procedures are followed.
