    Description
    Lead and manage assigned area ready-mix plants and aggregate production plants.

    This role is responsible for costs associated with the safe and profitable execution of manufacturing of quality products with primary responsibility for ensuring effective execution of area operational performance and growth strategy.

    Will manage the primary responsibilities for ensuring effective execution of ready-mix operational performance and growth strategy. Oversee Aggregate operations efficiently while assuring quality material. Oversee the logistics of our company's transportation-related activities. Competency requirements include business insight, customer focus, developing direct reports, drive for results, strategic agility and building effective teams. The preferred candidate can lead and motivate within a safe team environment.

    ESSENTIONAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS:


    Promote a safe working culture for all employees; work with safety and field personnel to minimize risk and always increase safety for employees.

    Responsible for daily operations including safe production, quality, customer focus and maintaining the integrity of the safety and environmental systems within the Company's ready-mix operations.

    Will supervisor and provide managerial oversight to the entire Ready-Mix team/operations.
    Drive operational performance and improvements to meet or exceed company and area goals.
    Generate and manage the operating budget for the fiscal year under the direction of the Director of Operations.
    Provide leadership and direction to ensure efficiency, quality, service, and cost-effective management of resources.
    Build effective teams and develop (direct reports) for future opportunities.

    Ensure that all crews have the tools and training to always operate safely and that all federal, state, and local laws concerning safety, environment and other applicable areas are adhered to.

    Monitor/control construction through administrative direction of the superintendents to ensure projects are built safely on schedule and within budget; investigate potentially serious situations and implement corrective measures.

    Provide advice and support to team during the job bidding process.
    Management of Capital Expenditure Projects for assigned area.
    Work with Director of Operations to establish long-range goals, strategies, plans, and policies.

    Provide leadership and direction in sales and marketing efforts resulting in maximum product sales, meeting, or exceeding customer expectations, and driving maximum profitability.

    Lead team in personal performance management, training and development, succession planning and effective recruiting and hiring.
    Proficiency in Duininck Concrete operating systems (Keystone, Concrete Rhino, and CAD systems) within 6 months of hire.
    Regular and predictable attendance at assigned times is required.
    Other duties as may be assigned.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:


    Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or other related discipline and/or equivalent combination of knowledge, skills, and abilities, preferred.

    Valid Driver's License (DL) and satisfactory driving record is required.
    Ten years in a management role within the construction industry specifically in concrete, asphalt, aggregates, construction and/or equipment, preferred.

    WORK REQUIREMENTS:
    Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen and criminal background check.
    Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
    Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
    Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required.
    Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.

    KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
    MnDOT certification within 6 months of hire. Accurately and competently complete MnDOT workbooks.

    Ability to prepare annual budgets and work with and/or administer budget; ability to answer questions and present financial data to CEO, Controller, Director of Operation, and others.

    Knowledge and understanding of functional areas within the ready-mix.

    Ability to work with peers and other members of management team from all lines of business to achieve progress towards mutual goals.

    Excellent interpersonal skills and exemplary oral/written communication skills.
    Energetic, forward-thinking, and creative individual with high ethical standards and ability to present themselves professionally.
    Strategic visionary with sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment, and strong operational focus.
    Experience in strategic planning and execution.
    Demonstrated success in managing large group of employees.
    Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
    High standard of ethics, integrity, and trust.

    Must be available as needed during non-traditional work hours.

    Must be able to work under time constraints as needed.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    Vision abilities (with correction) include close, distance, peripheral, depth, and the ability to adjust focus.
    The employee is frequently required to sit and use hands.
    The employee is frequently required to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
    Able to safely drive a vehicle for long periods of time.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:
    Majority of time is spent in the field (plant locations and/or job sites).
    Tempo is fast paced with deadlines.
    The noise level in some areas of the work environment may be moderate.
