    Staff Accountant
    Toole Design Group in Silver Spring, MD is looking to hire an experienced and talented full-time Staff Accountant.

    This Staff Accountant position with a focus on payroll (80%) and general ledger (20%) earns a competitive salary and great benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, a health savings account (HSA), and a flexible spending account (FSA).

    A Day in the Life of a Staff Accountant

    You will be responsible for full cycle payroll, reconciliations in the ERP system with attention to every detail including multi state regulations.

    You will work closely with HR to keep ERP entries up to date. You'll keep us up to date with benefits and compliance as well as assist with audits and reporting. You assist with general ledger maintenance, reconciling and balancing payroll and oversee expense reporting. The department will look to you to suggest ways to streamline these processes.

    Qualifications of a Staff Accountant:
    A degree in accounting, or additional experience in lieu of a degree

    5 years of hands-on accounting experience

    Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist and in-depth knowledge of payroll regulations, tax codes, and compliance requirements

    Intermediate-Advanced Excel skills

    Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles

    Familiar with FAR related transactions

    Experience with a large ERP accounting system, Deltek Vantagepoint preferred

    Experience with larger payroll/HRIS software, Paylocity preferred

    Proficiency in Microsoft Office

    Experience in the Architecture/Engineering/Planning (AEP)(AE) or job cost environment preferred

    Knowledge of the project structure in a client/consultant business environment is a plus

    Strong attention to detail

    Work Schedule for a Staff Accountant
    This full-time position typically works a schedule of 40 hours a week.

    This position will work a hybrid schedule of 3 days a week in the office with the flexibility to work from home 2 days a week.

    We provide employees with the flexibility and necessary equipment to work from home. The Silver Spring office of Toole Design is our corporate headquarters.

    We are conveniently located just outside of Washington DC in downtown Silver Spring, two blocks from the Silver Spring Metrorail/MARC Station and bus depot.

    Our beautiful 8th floor suite offers stunning views of DC and surrounding Montgomery County. The office is easily accessed on foot, by bicycle, and via transit.
