    Description


    Field Service Engineer III - (C3) If you like to troubleshoot hardware, solve complex problems, and make equipment work better, this is the role for you.

    As a Field Service Engineer, you'll work in our state-of-the-art facility and at customer sites around the globe, where you are the face of Applied Materials and an integral part of a vibrant and diverse team.

    Our senior-level Field Service Engineers work independently, and help train junior colleagues, to create and support the technology that the world relies on to manufacture semiconductor chips and related materials.

    You'll work beside global customers to install, maintain and upgrade their Applied Materials equipment, delivering world-class support for multimillion-dollar production systems.

    Assist with installing leading-edge customer equipment, performing scheduled preventative maintenance and corrective maintenance, and upgrading equipmentFollow procedures you learn during your training, as well as published task plans, to test equipment and to diagnose and resolve technical problemsComplete required job documentation, safety training and procedures for processing partsProfessionally represent Applied Materials to the customer, using your "customer first" mindsetSatisfy the company's and customer's on-site requirements, including safety, environmental and COVID-19 guidelinesTrain junior engineers on site-related safety, troubleshooting procedures, and developing a customer-first mindsetYou'll need: An associate degree in electronics or engineering technologies, or equivalent work experience, or completion of military technical training and field experienceAbility to read electrical and mechanical schematicsClear and effective written/verbal communications skills, with an emphasis on documenting detailsProficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)


    Advanced mechanical aptitude and knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, vacuum and/or thermodynamicsStrong knowledge of hand tools and proper usage, including a digital multimeterNice to have: 4-7 years of work experience in semiconductor industry or another equipment support industryWhat to expect: You'll work on rotation and in shifts so that customers have ongoing supportYour job requires the ability to: lift at least 35 in a clean room environment wearing coveralls, hood, booties, safety glasses, and glovessit, stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach and stretch to reach equipment when needed, and stand for extended periods of timedetermine differences in colorsYou'll need a valid driver's license and passportYour benefits: At Applied Materials, we care about the wellbeing of our people, and we strive to support you in ways that extend beyond your work environment.

    S Salary Range:
    $ $49.50The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable. For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
