Shift: 6:30am - 3:30pm
Job Summary:
Verify and maintain records on incoming and outgoing shipments. Prepare items for shipment.
Duties include assembling, addressing, stamping, and shipping merchandise or material; receiving, unpacking, verifying, and recording incoming merchandise or material; and arranging for the transportation of products.
Job Responsibilities- Prepare documents, such as work orders, bills of lading, or shipping orders, to route materials
- Record shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, damages or discrepancies for reporting, accounting, or recordkeeping purposes
- Contact carrier representative to make arrangements or to issue instructions for shipping and delivery of materials.
- Confer or correspond with company representatives to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, or nonconformance to specifications.
- Requisition and store shipping materials and supplies to maintain inventory of stock.
- Examine shipment contents and compare with records such as manifests, invoices, or orders to verify accuracy.
- Pack, seal, label or affix postage to prepare materials for shipping, using hand tools, power tools, or postage meter.
- Deliver or route materials to departments using hand truck, conveyor, or sorting bins.
- Determine shipping methods, routes, or rates for materials to be shipped
Job Qualifications:
- 35 years' experience in Shipping and Receiving.
- Experience in the Material Handling Industry preferred.
- High school diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate)
- Experience with material handling equipment; including forklifts, pallet jacks, and scissor lifts.
- Ability to work safely.
- Good interpersonal communications skills
- Must be reliable, able to follow directions, get along with coworkers/management personnel and report to work on time.
Pay:
$ $24.00 per hour
