Phlebotomy Externship Coordinator - San Diego, United States - US Colleges
Description
We are currently seeking a Phlebotomy Externship Coordinator to join our team at our campus. In this position you will be responsible for preparing our students for their externship and future employment; resume development and interviewing readiness. This position is also responsible for acquiring externship sites and maintaining follow up during the students' externship experience.
Primary/Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Complies with all Federal, State, accreditation and institutional policies and procedures.

Develops relationships with students in the program to access students' strengths and weaknesses and to match students' skills with extern sites to meet extern completion rates.

Building extern site opportunities by developing, acquiring, recruiting externship sites to secure ongoing availability and expanding available.

Maintaining accurate and timely records of students' participation in open lab, national test tutoring, taking and/or rescheduling exam, program balance and progress as it relates to eligibility to schedule and attend externship.

Assist with hands-on/open lab training of an assigned course(s) or program according to the IEC standardized curriculum and the course and program objectives.

Conducting one-on-one student advisements to ensure the student is ready for externship and/or partnership up with instructors.

Communicating with Director of Education and the Campus Registrars regarding students at risk and student's progress through licensure.

Able to work successfully with those of often diverse backgrounds.

Ability to work accurately and coordinate and accomplish a variety of tasks.

Proactively maintains a working knowledge of technical and procedural aspects and functions.

Follows safety procedures; ethical standards and practice.

Exhibit patience and positive attitudes in establishing and encouraging a learning environment.

Maintains confidentiality at all times.

Other duties as assigned

State CPT license.

Six months of experience as a licensed phlebotomist
-
Strong communication and interpersonal skills including both verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to successfully multitask with accuracy in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to work with little supervisor in off-site clinical setting.

Working knowledge of technical and procedural aspects and functions.
-
Basic physiology; safety procedures; ethical standards and practice.

Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to drive in the United States.

Ability to read, analyze and interpret common technical journals and legal documents.

Ability to effectively present information to management and/or public groups.
-
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
