Description
A Treatment Nurse is responsible for patient/resident skin care and other medical assessments, treatments, and documentation, under the direction of the Director of Nursing Services (DON) and/or attending physician(s)Schedule:
Monday - Friday OR Tuesday - Friday
Previous nursing or healthcare experience preferred
CPR and First Aid certified
Consults with DON, Medical Director, and other members of the Care Plan Team concerning assessment evaluations, assist in developing appropriate treatment plans
Examines patients/residents and their medical records/charts, recommending when to refer them to a physician for further evaluation or care
Assesses skin conditions, identifying, photographing, and documenting stages and any other problems upon admission/re-admission or any extended time away from the facility
Ensures that residents with decubitus ulcers receive appropriate prophylaxis and treatment, such as daily inspection, turning and activity, a well-planned diet, and maintenance of clean, dry bed
Performs administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, charting, etc.
Builds positive relationships with interdisciplinary team members working with kitchen staff for dietary changes, therapy on wound management, etc.
Provides information to resident and family members on prevention techniques and other ways to maintain or improve general health and psychosocial status of residentOrders medication/equipment/treatment supplies, etc. to ensure care is provided timely
Attends meetings as assigned to discuss patients' and other facility business
