    Description
    Position Summary
    The Wire Bonder Technician is responsible for operating wire bonders, adjusting machines, and reworking wire-bonded products. This includes identifying production faults, ensuring assemblies meet specifications, and recovering or reworking products when needed.
    Key Roles & Responsibilities
    • Have a technical understanding of module repairs, including reworking bonding, glue, and screw issues
    • Identify faults in circuit boards, perform soldering, and rework modules
    • Meet daily KPIs
    • Submit system checks on faulty products
    • Perform electronic assembly operations on components
    • Independently operate production equipment, audit for proper functioning, and report deviations
    • Maintain and clean equipment, work area, and facility based on standards
    • Load/unload stations using proper handling equipment
    • Follow inspection procedures to maintain quality standards
    • Assemble cell pairs and modules using various tools
    • Read plans and blueprints to understand battery specifications
    • Deploy, troubleshoot, adjust, and test low voltage wiring
    • Measure electrical characteristics using appropriate equipment
    • Assemble cell pairs and modules according to work instructions
    • Install subassemblies and modules
    • Sort defective parts through nonconforming material procedure
    • Comply with manufacturing practices and 5S standards
    • Adhere to BorgWarner beliefs
    • Perform assigned duties
    Safety, Health & Physical Requirements
    • Lift up to 35 lbs. occasionally
    • Follow safety policies and procedures
    • Use hands repetitively
    • Perform physical activities like standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, reaching, pulling, pushing
    • Wear personal protective equipment
    • Operate between 2 to 3 stations
    • Bend, kneel, lift, carry, and reach as needed
    • Demonstrate good eye/hand coordination
    • Travel up to 15% for training

    Education & Experience
    Education:
    • High School diploma/GED required
    Experience:
    • 1+ year in manufacturing environment preferred
    • 1+ years of Quality and product rework in a manufacturing setting required
    • Complete internal certification in bonding operation
    • Experience in high voltage areas preferred
    • Experience in fast-paced industrial lean environment preferred
    • Experience with bonding operations preferred
    • SAP experience a plus
    • Experience with simple hand tools preferred
    • Experience troubleshooting machines/equipment preferred
    • Experience using electrical test equipment
    Computer Skills:
    Basic computer knowledge is required
