    Description

    Summary

    Under the direction of a licensed physician, the Nurse Practitioner provides medical services to patients using approved patient care protocols; collect and document data, conduct diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, order and schedule laboratory studies and professional consultations and provides direct patient care services.

    Responsibilities

    • Obtains patient history and performs assessment via observation, interview and examination
    • Performs preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations and patient care
    • Provides direct treatment and management of health conditions via prescriptive authority or referral to other healthcare providers or community resources
    • Counsels and educates patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options and community resources
    • Documents delivery of health care and nursing processes in accordance with specific specialty area standards and Tenet nursing policy
    • Ensures that all contact with patients, the public, physicians and other personnel are carried out in a friendly, courteous, helpful and considerate manner

    Education and Experience

    Includes minimum education, technical training, and/or experience required to perform the job:

    • Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN) required
    • Current Florida Advance Registered Nurse Practitioner License
    • Current American Heart Association BLS Certification for Health Care Provider required
    • Current American Heart Association ACLS Certification for Health Care Provider required
    • EMR/EHR experience preferred, NextGen or Athena experience preferred
    • Proficiency in a windows environment with a working knowledge of Word, Outlook, and the Internet is required
    • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and employees
    • Willingness to be flexible and adaptable in a complex, matrix environment
