Job Summary:

The Senior Electrical Engineer will apply advanced engineering techniques, principles, and precedents to analyze designs and develop, implement, test, and evaluate software related to engineering or functional requirements of military weapons systems and associated support systems.

Essential Job Functions:
Performs tasks with little or no guidance
Reviews, analyzes, develops, prepares, or applies engineering, technical, or maintenance specifications, policies, standards, or procedures
Reviews and prepares engineering and technical analyses, reports, change proposals, and other technical documentation
Applies engineering expertise to perform functions such as system integration, configuration management, quality assurance testing, and acquisition and resource management
Plans and performs tests and evaluations of systems equipment or components
Analyzes test data results
Develops electrical design drawings, calculations, and specifications to accompany design models
Review designs to ensure compliance with project objectives and standards
Design, implement, maintain, or improve electrical instruments, equipment, components, and products
Evaluates and reviews the work of Junior Engineers
Serves as Electrical Engineering Subject Matter Expert (SME)
Reviews and approves preliminary and final electrical design analysis, drawings, and specifications for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with engineering principles
Ensures that final design and specifications satisfy project requirements

Other Job Functions:
Development of innovative power distribution systems
Uses engineering expertise to aid in proposal development
Development of new test methods and procedures
Hands-on troubleshooting of electrical systems
Analyzes information and evaluates results to choose the best solutions to solve engineering issues
Keeps up-to-date on industry standards and best practices, and effectively applies them

Requirements:

Qualifications/Education/Experience/Skills:
Master's degree in an engineering (aerospace, computer, electrical, etc.) or related technical discipline
Ten years of experience in the job functions listed above, with at least three of those years of experience being directly related to DoD systems
Thorough knowledge of standard test equipment (AC/DC power supplies, loaders, DAQs) and methods of instrumentation
AutoCAD experience preferred
Electrical circuit

design/troubleshooting

experience preferred
Printed circuit board design experience preferred
Experience with reverse engineering techniques preferred
Microsoft Project experience preferred

Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee routinely is required to sit, walk, see, hear, and feel. Occasionally will need to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Moderate environment temperature and noise level, Must be able to interpret data, information, and documents. Can learn and apply new information and/or skills.
