- Performs tasks with little or no guidance
- Reviews, analyzes, develops, prepares, or applies engineering, technical, or maintenance specifications, policies, standards, or procedures
- Reviews and prepares engineering and technical analyses, reports, change proposals, and other technical documentation
- Applies engineering expertise to perform functions such as system integration, configuration management, quality assurance testing, and acquisition and resource management
- Plans and performs tests and evaluations of systems equipment or components
- Analyzes test data results
- Develops electrical design drawings, calculations, and specifications to accompany design models
- Review designs to ensure compliance with project objectives and standards
- Design, implement, maintain, or improve electrical instruments, equipment, components, and products
- Evaluates and reviews the work of Junior Engineers
- Serves as Electrical Engineering Subject Matter Expert (SME)
- Reviews and approves preliminary and final electrical design analysis, drawings, and specifications for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with engineering principles
- Ensures that final design and specifications satisfy project requirements
- Development of innovative power distribution systems
- Uses engineering expertise to aid in proposal development
- Development of new test methods and procedures
- Hands-on troubleshooting of electrical systems
- Analyzes information and evaluates results to choose the best solutions to solve engineering issues
- Keeps up-to-date on industry standards and best practices, and effectively applies them
- Master's degree in an engineering (aerospace, computer, electrical, etc.) or related technical discipline
- Ten years of experience in the job functions listed above, with at least three of those years of experience being directly related to DoD systems
- Thorough knowledge of standard test equipment (AC/DC power supplies, loaders, DAQs) and methods of instrumentation
- AutoCAD experience preferred
- Electrical circuit design/troubleshooting experience preferred
- Printed circuit board design experience preferred
- Experience with reverse engineering techniques preferred
- Microsoft Project experience preferred
