The West Shore School District has a High School Assistant Principals Secretary position at Cedar Cliff High School available for the school year.

It is a Level 4, 245 days per year, 7.5 hours per day position.


QUALIFICATIONS:


  • High school diploma.
  • Proficiency with keyboarding.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Compliance with Employment Eligibility, all required background clearances, and Physical Examination/TB test standards.
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Assistant Principals and Building Principal


JOB GOAL:

To aid the assistant principals in all aspects of their jobs and ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the school office.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:


Performs the following tasks:

proofreading; filing in a five-drawer file cabinet; filing and storage on nine-foot high shelves, standing to operate copier and collate materials, handling mail, operating paper cutter and paper drill; transporting up to ten reams of paper and printed material to office; assuring readiness of office equipment.


  • Prepares correspondence, memos, reports, discipline letters, and other such typing as directed by the assistant principals.
  • Inventories, tracks, and distributes keys and educational materials as requested.
  • Establishes positive public and employee relations by assisting in the operation of the office and providing assistance to students, parents, staff, and other community representatives in a courteous manner.
  • Assists administration in monitoring and screening all visitors to the building to ensure a safe school environment.
  • Maintains records relating to student obligations, funds, and fundraising activities.
  • Performs accurate computations, reads, and correctly interprets written materials related to the functions of the position.
  • Monitors and maintains records for student discipline as assigned.
  • Assists with general office duties including mailings, tasks related to special events/activities, purchase order processing, and assistance to the receptionist as needed.
  • Assists in the preparation and maintenance of teacher schedules and other materials related to the operation of school.
  • Assists in the health room in the absence of the nurse.
  • Assists with the processing of student work papers.
  • Participates in required staff development activities.
  • Ensures the highest degree of confidentiality appropriate to the position.
  • Serves as a resource person on District and building policies, procedures, rules, and regulations relevant to the position.
  • Works during established building operating hours and works extra time as needed and approved.
  • Complies with the Pennsylvania School Code, the policies of the School Board, and the _Non-Bargaining Support Personnel Handbook._
  • Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as may be assigned by the supervisor.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:


  • Twelve month position.
  • Compensation as per District guidelines.

RESPONSIBILITY LEVEL: 4


EVALUATION:

Performance of this job will be evaluated by the building principal and assistant principals in accordance with the Board policy on evaluation of support personnel.

$ $22.46 per hour
