Description

The Federal Institute for Research on Building, Urban Affairs and Spatial Development (BBSR) within the Federal Office for Building and Regional Planning (BBR) is the research institution in the department of the Federal Ministry of Housing, Urban Development and Construction (BMWSB).

It advises the federal government at national and European level on tasks related to urban and regional development, as well as housing, real estate and construction.

In order to support structural change in regions with specific needs, especially in coal regions, the BBSR is establishing a "Competence Center for Regional Development" (KRE) at its location in Cottbus.

The Competence Center accompanies the structural change in coal regions scientifically, advises politics and administration, and prepares findings from comparable processes in Germany and abroad and makes them usable for the coal regions.

For the newly established "Research Data Center - Coal Regions" (FDZ), the "Competence Center for Regional Development" (KRE) at the Cottbus location is looking to fill a permanent position as soon as possible:
