FilmNation Entertainment - VP, Operations

Location:
New York. This position is in-person at our Chelsea office four days a week and working remotely on Fridays.


FilmNation Entertainment is looking for a full-time Vice President of Operations, to join the Operations team in our NY office.

This role reports to the COO.


FilmNation Entertainment is a leading independent entertainment company that produces, finances, and distributes award-winning films, television series, podcasts, and theater productions that combine strong creative voices with global appeal.

FilmNation's award-winning productions include the following: Emerald Fennell's PROMISING YOUNG WOMAN starring Carey Mulligan (film); Denis Villeneuve's ARRIVAL starring Amy Adams (film); THE GOOD NURSE starring Eddie Redmayne and Jessica Chastain (film), I KNOW THIS MUCH IS TRUE starring Mark Ruffalo (television), PRIMA FACIE starring Jodie Comer (theater), A BAND'S VISIT (theater), STEREOPHONIC (theater), SNAFU hosted by Ed Helms (podcast) and MURDER ON THE TOWPATH (podcast).


The VP of Opera3ons maintains and improves the company's internal day-to-day operations and oversees its New York, Los Angeles, and London offices.


This role handles a range of responsibilities, including but not limited to the following:


  • Manager of all Information Technologies: oversees all company systems, platforms, and software, manages outsourced IT services/vendors, manages company phone/date plans, administers cyber training, implements new technologies.

Company Communicatons: manages company-wide internal information dissemination, regular corporate updates, and any 3mely alerts.

Document/File Storage Administration:updates and maintains general company and HR information in centralized database, tracks all Operational spending, and inventories a complete list of tools/resources available to the company.

Employee Onboarding / Offboarding: responsible for onboarding new hires and offboarding any departing staff, including system setup, new hire/exit documentation, and benefits management.

Facility Management: Maintains the day-to-day functioning of New York and Los Angeles offices, including managing local vendor relationships/landlords. Spearheads compliance around safety procedures, ensures the organization of the space and aesthetic upkeep, tracks and orders supplies, and oversees access/security.

People Operations: keeps Company calendar, handles benefit enrollments, and plans Company's annual Retreat / any major corporate outtings.

Finance: approves all operations vendor invoices, tracks expenses, purchases, and capital / IT expenditures, and coordinates closely with CFO.

Travel: oversees company travel relationships / arranges limited corporate travel.

  • Other key details: position is supported by the Company's Operations Assistant (direct report), and is an active member of the Company's Leadership Committee.

Qualifications:


  • 8+ Years of Operations experience
  • Ability to work in the NYC Office in person 4 days a week per Company policy (Mon-Thurs)
  • Proven track record of operational excellence using critical thinking and superb analytic skills to improve process and employee experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience building and scaling teams and systems.
  • Ability to lead an initiative from concept to completion with successful project management experience.
  • Advanced experience with the Microsoft 365 Suite and Apple products.
  • Technology savvy, including a general understanding of the critical components of IT systems required to operate a small company.
  • Eagerness to engage with a broad assortment of Company executives regularly to help create a positive, collaborative working culture across all departments.
  • Evident, demonstrated ability to problemsolve and multitask.
  • Driven, detailoriented, innovative, strategic, and resultsdriven.
This position's anticipated annual base salary is $150,000-$175,000. This range does not include any other compensation components or benefits for which an individual may be eligible.

The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and from which they will be performing the job.


Pay:
$150, $165,000.00 per year
