Job Summary

General Information

  • This is an hourly position
  • This position reports to the Sawmill Manager

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work longer hours on short notice
  • Communicating with the purchaser and Sawmill Manager to further support cost effective ways to manage purchasing and inventory controlfacility wide
  • Initiate purchasing of all consumable parts (with PM Parts Purchaser)
  • Working with the PM Parts Purchaser and Sawmill Manager to build a Preventive Maintenance program for each area that is easily maintained
  • Sawmill Machinery
  • Waste Systems and dust collection systems
  • All outside yard equipment
  • Compressor PM and Service
  • Building Needs
  • Follow PM program per the instructions outlined
  • Complete PM work orders as required
  • Complete training to complete HOT WORK Permits
  • Knowledge of cutting torches
  • Weld/Fabricate
  • Mig & Stick Welding
  • Assemble and install equipment using hand and power tools
  • Troubleshoot and replace / repair defective parts
  • Adjust clearances and align parts
  • Problem Solving
  • Analyze information and evaluate to choose the best solution to solve problem
  • Travel to all locations as needed
  • Work a minimum of 20% OFF production hours each week (when the facility is not running)
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications /Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Effective Written and Oral communication skills
  • Able to work well with mínimal supervision
  • Ability to Prioritize tasks and follow specified procedures
