Position Requirements:

Current Licensed staff shall meet or exceed all performance standards.
Staff who recently retired and have not satisfied their bonified break in service, and Retirement Opportunity Participants who have not completed their ROP hours for the upcoming school year, are not eligible to work summer school.

If a licensed teacher is unable to be secured, a substitute/temporary employee in certain circumstances may be considered. (See below for details).

Certified staff working in their licensed capacity in summer instructional programs (06/13/202408/09/2024) will receive their hourly rate based upon the salary in their contract for summer instructional program hours worked. Actual start and end dates will vary by program.
Teachers contracted to start in the school year, and Teaching Professionals on Temporary Assignment (TPOTA), Temporary Teachers, and Long-Term Subs who successfully completed a longterm certified assignments in , shall receive the approved temporary rate of pay based on whether they currently hold a valid VDOE license.
Licensed temporary rate $46.50/instructional hour. $32/hour for noninstructional hours.
Non-Licensed temporary rate $26.75/hour.
