Position Summary:


Responsible for monitoring and ensuring sufficient supply of purchased materials, identifying potential shortages, and ordering specific raw material commodities, processing our vendor managed inventory program and orders for office supplies.

This role will also support continuous improvement projects to drive cost and efficiency within the materials team value stream. The position requires strong organizational and analytical skills and strong, effective teamwork, follow-up, and communication.

Functional Responsibilities:


  • Ensure purchase orders placed are aligned with both prenegotiated pricing and production dates
  • Use Microsoft Dynamics NAV (ERP) to review and compile data
  • Use Manager Plus software to strategically track and replenish all MRO items
  • Verify Material requirements planning (MRP), and place necessary purchase orders and material releases for items assigned.
  • Owner of all MRO (Maintenance, Repair, & Operational Support) item procurement and MRO inventory management.
  • Work with Purchasing Supervisor to develop and implement lean based processes and procedures for MRO inventory management and replenishment.
  • Work with Reliability and Maintenance Manager to ensure the proper MRO items are being stocked based on historical and future maintenance processes and procedures.
  • Work with Purchasing Supervisor in developing KPI's for tracking and monitoring MRO items spend and inventory control.
  • Process and satisfy all raw corrugated needs, as well as office supply needs and misc requests.
  • Facilitate our Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) program
  • Download forecast information and communicate to supply base
  • Monitor material levels, purchases, and delivery dates for special sales promotion items.
  • Report key performance metrics related to inventory management and supplier performance.
  • Maintain logs, spreadsheets and reports as needed.
  • Process returns out of our Microsoft Dynamics NAV (ERP) system
  • Adjust inventory levels as business conditions change for assigned items.
  • Support other team members during heightened expedite/quality/out of stock situations and as business needs dictate.
  • Attend meetings to support new and ongoing pack configurations and report back to team

Required Experience, Desired Skills & Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years experience with procurement and inventory management of services and supplies
  • The ability to manage multiple conflicting tasks in a fastpaced environment.
  • Must be able to exercise proper judgment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and able to learn new software programs quickly.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, detail oriented.
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Taking initiative and can start/complete tasks with basic direction.
  • A team player.
  • Experience with and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics NAV a plus.
  • Previous purchasing experience preferred

Educational Qualifications:

Associate degree (preferred) or equivalent experience
