Job Duties

The Human Resource (HR) Investigator provides internal investigations that are prompted by a complaint or concern regarding employee relations situations.

The HR Investigator is responsible for collecting evidence and facts surrounding situations, concerns and/or complaint; which are then used to determine if any corrective actions necessary.


Responsibilities include:

  • Leads and conducts a variety of workplace investigations, including but not limited to employee complaints, misconduct allegations, and policy violations
  • Utilizes expertise in Employee Relations to ensure thorough and unbiased investigations are conducted
  • Conducts interviews with relevant parties, gathers pertinent documentation, and analyzes evidence to form a comprehensive understanding of each investigation
  • Documents findings, conclusions, and recommendations in detailed investigatory reports
  • Ensures all investigations adhere to applicable laws, regulations, and company policies
  • Produces accurate and timely reports outlining investigation processes, findings, and recommended actions, maintaining confidentiality and integrity throughout the process

Minimum Qualifications

  • Knowledge of HR functions (general principals and practices); relevant federal and state laws, regulations and policies. Emphasis on Employee Relations
  • Knowledge of grievance procedures; best practices in corrective/disciplinary action; and alternative
- dispute resolution techniques.

  • Experience collaborating with management on employee disciplinary actions; conducting complex investigations or EEO/ADA; interviews, gathering factual information/data; making sound recommendations; report writing, facilitating training.
  • Ability to effectively communicate orally, verbally, electronically and in writing; interpret policies, procedures, rules and regulations.
  • Ability to work in conjunction with others, multitask, manage a heavy work volume, and meet the everchanging demands in a fastpaced environment is essential.
  • Strong customer service, time management and organizational skills with the ability to be meticulous and a high degree of professionalism.
  • Proven ability to conduct trend analysis and produce computerized reports.
  • Demonstrate interpersonal skills that foster a work culture of inclusion; interact with internal/external clients to learn their business needs and work independently.
  • Must be able to conduct training and presentations to groups of new hires and staff when applicable.
  • Proficient computer skills in use of MS Office Suite; HRIS, PMIS, Cardinal; and/or databases.
