    Responsibilities*

    • Conducting laboratory experiments independently and collaboratively, managing research experiments efficiently, and interpreting complex data analysis. Stay updated with current scientific literature, devise innovative techniques, and experimental systems to align with research goals.
    • Overseeing laboratory research projects, identifying scientific problems, designing effective approaches, and managing resources for investigations.
    • Assisting in grant preparation, financial laboratory management, preparing manuscripts for publication, monitoring personnel progress, and providing comprehensive training to lab members.

    Required Qualifications*

    • Master's Degree in related field
    • 5-6 years of relevant experience
    • Experience in supervision and financial management
    • Proficiency in molecular biology techniques such as PCR, cell culture, Western blots, and cloning
    • Strong publication record and ability to work collaboratively in a laboratory setting
    • Proficient with relevant software and equipment, along with excellent communication and organizational skills
    • Ability to strategize research directions and manage multiple projects efficiently

    Desired Qualifications*

    • Doctoral degree in relevant field with 3 years of post-doctoral work experience
    • Expertise in epigenetics, genomics, and cancer biology, preferred skills in ChIPseq, RNAseq, and CRISPR/Cas9 KO technology

    Background Screening

    Michigan Medicine conducts background screenings and pre-employment drug tests as part of the hiring process, adhering to legal regulations. Drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new faculty and staff appointments and transfers within the U-M system.
