Collins Aerospace in Fairfield, CA, is looking for a dedicated and skilled X-ray technician to join our team in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

The position involves performing X-ray functions on manufactured parts following established X-ray inspection methods. X-ray functions include operating X-ray machines, developers, and densitometers after training and qualification. The X-ray technician also completes inspection records and nonconformance reports as part of their inspection operation.

This position is onsite in Fairfield, CA.

Schedule:


  • This position is for 2nd shift.


  • Monday

  • Thursday, 4:00 p.m. to 2:30 a.m.
  • Overtime is available and/or mandatory on a business need basis.

What You'll Do:


  • Perform Xray inspection functions on manufactured parts following established Xray inspection methods.
  • Interpret film and certify conformance of parts to customer requirements.
  • Complete all necessary records to ensure compliance within certain specifications.
  • Operate Xray machine, developer, and densitometer after qualification and training.
  • Demonstrate good safety working habits, including the wearing of radiation monitoring badges.
  • Demonstrate the ability to follow Xray technique cards proficiently.
  • Work with engineering and rework personnel as needed.

Basic Qualifications

  • Typically requires a High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of a year of relevant experience. In the absence of a High School diploma or GED, 3 years of relevant experience is required.
  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) access.
  • Pass vision test and color perception test annually.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working as an Xray technician.
  • Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • N-Ray experience
  • Digital X-Ray experience
