Program Dates:
July - August 2, 2024

Hours:
Monday - Friday from 7:30 am - 1:30 pm

The Secondary Credit Recovery Teacher is a classroom instruction specialist.

The credit recovery teacher provides high-level academic support and instruction to students in their content area with the goal of recovering credits to facilitate timely graduation.

Teaching positions are based upon enrollment and funding. Teachers with ESL endorsements are preferred. A minimum of 10 students is required to run a course.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND CURRICULAR LINKAGES:

  • Hosting and setting expectations for daily virtual and in-seat instruction
  • Monitor Edgenuity progress, provide individualized support, provide direct instruction to students, set goals
  • Support students with content area instruction
  • Host inperson checkin meetings with students in virtual learning options
  • Refer students to Community Specialists and counselors to make outreach calls/home visits for attendance
  • Provide whole group, small group, and individual instruction based on student credit recovery needs
  • Administer and interpret educational assessments
  • Implement a range of effective instructional strategies and classroom interventions
  • Promote an environment conducive to the intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development of students
  • Participate fully in a professional community including common planning, professional development, and selfreflection/evaluation
  • Supervise students in a range of settings; protect and promote the safety and wellbeing of students, colleagues, equipment, materials/facilities
  • Communicate and interact appropriately and professionally with students, colleagues, parents and the community and promote intellectual, physical, social, and emotional student learning
  • Continuously develop and evolve teaching practice and support colleagues in their development
  • Daily, weekly grades and attendance; Must commit to working all days of program

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS STANDARDS:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Education from an accredited teacher education program
  • Prior experience in in supporting students in a class environment as well as in a tutor/mentor style relationship ensuring students successfully attain mastery to recover content credits
  • Ability differentiate and scaffold instruction to support and accelerate learning
  • An assetbased view of diverse cultures and a belief in growth mindset
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills: track and support students in multiple modes of learning
