**JOB SUMMARY**

The Customer Service Representative (CSR) is an entry level position that plays a significant role in shaping our customer experience and full-filling our company's mission. The CSR is responsible for providing exceptional customer service and supporting the needs of our clients. The is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established independent insurance agency and gain valuable experience working in a professional atmosphere with a winning team.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES**

Day-to-day maintenance of personal lines accounts, including customer service requests, in-bound/out-bound calls, and in-person customer interactions

Working with insurance companies to facilitate information, fulfill agency obligations, and streamline customer communications

Pulling account history, sourcing public records, and preparing accounts for underwriting

Distribution of policy documents and carrier correspondence

Troubleshooting billing issues and assisting with premium payments

Remarketing accounts, conducting coverage reviews and processing change requests

Maintain MIS client files and ensure proper documentation, by processing all policies, endorsement changes, invoices, certificates of insurance, documentation, activities, etc., according to agency procedures

Respond to client inquiries, incoming e-mail, mail, and company requests in accordance with agency procedures

Review all items to be processed, to insure items were received as ordered

Prepare billing following agencys credit and collections policies

**ADDITIONAL DUTIES**

Participate in courses for insurance/sales skills

Maintain current knowledge of carrier underwriting requirements

Stay current with industry trends by reading appropriate journals and company bulletins

Participate in any special projects at managements request

Supports and incorporates company mission and core values

Excels in a team atmosphere and collaborative work environment

All additional duties as assigned

**QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION**

Two-year associate college degree required; four-year college degree preferred

Basic knowledge and understanding of insurance

Demonstrated experience and expertise operating in electronic environment; excellent automation skills, including MIS, Outlook, Word, Excel, document management software, carrier proprietary systems, and phone systems

Familiarity with risk assessment and risk management techniques

Excellent time management, organizational and verbal and written communication skills

High degree of self-motivation and self-direction

Proven expertise and skills in customer service

Has the ability to perform multiple tasks accurately and efficiently
