    Description

    Position: Human Resources & Payroll Specialist

    Location: Arlington, VA

    Schedule: In-office Wednesday and Thursday, remote work for the rest of the week

    We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Human Resources & Payroll Specialist to join our team in Arlington, VA. This role involves managing all aspects of bi-weekly payroll processing and executing various human resource projects and processes to enhance the overall employee experience. The successful candidate will report directly to the Senior Director of People Operations.

    Responsibilities:

    • Maintain accurate and timely data entry in HRMS for all employee-related changes
    • Process bi-weekly payroll for full-time and part-time employees
    • Coordinate and execute various HR projects, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and benefits administration
    • Respond to employee inquiries and correspond with vendors regarding employee benefits
    • Support recruitment activities as directed by the Senior Director of People Operations
    • Prepare payment requests, expense reports, and reconcile benefits statements
    • Organize and maintain electronic HR files according to established policies
    • Draft HR documents for review, such as employment letters and leave letters
    • Monitor and respond to inquiries coming into the general HR inbox
    • Post and update HR documents on the SharePoint intranet
    • Generate regular and ad hoc reports and track completion of required activities
    • Provide administrative support for organizational culture initiatives and staff events
    • Conduct special projects and audits of regulatory documentation as requested

    Requirements:

    • Over three (3) years of experience in a human resources function or capacity
    • Two (2) years of payroll processing experience and associated compliance requirements
    • Experience using ADP Workforce Now or similar HRMS system preferred
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
    • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
    • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
    • Professional maturity and discretion with confidential HR information
    • Proactive problem-solving skills and adaptability to change
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
    • Willingness to be present in the office two (2) to three (3) times per week
