In line with our expansion, we are looking for a skilled Buyer to join our team in Pewaukee, WI and contribute to our ongoing success.

    The Buyer will be responsible for managing specific products within our supply chain by identifying and overseeing suppliers, issuing purchase orders, and ensuring optimal performance. This role involves addressing procurement, quality, invoice, and inventory issues related to assigned parts. Effective communication with external suppliers and internal teams is crucial to provide excellent customer support.

    Typical Duties/Essential Job Functions:

    • Research and evaluate potential suppliers based on market understanding, considering price competitiveness, quality, delivery capabilities, and reputation.
    • Monitor and enhance supplier performance through visits and performance metrics, focusing on quality, delivery, and pricing.
    • Place purchase orders, negotiate prices, and enforce supplier compliance, particularly regarding delivery schedules and product quality, while resolving invoice disputes.
    • Maintain optimal inventory levels to minimize costs and prevent shortages, ensuring a high level of service.
    • Facilitate timely information flow between suppliers and internal stakeholders.
    • Interpret technical requirements and collaborate with suppliers on dimensions, tolerances, and finishes.
    • Identify cost-saving opportunities and participate in cost reduction initiatives.
    • Collaborate with Supplier Quality to address defective goods and services promptly.
    • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
    • Challenge existing processes for simplification and improvement.
    • Conduct ad hoc analyses and lead special projects across functions.

    Education and Experience Qualifications:

    • Must have a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field.
    • Preferably 3-5 years of purchasing/procurement experience in a manufacturing setting.
    • Experience with ERP systems, especially Epicore, is advantageous.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools like Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, and Outlook.
