PURPOSE:

To provide quality assurance and technical assistance to WRC Adult Day Program Vendors.
Will also plan and coordinate activities relating to evaluating the quality and effectiveness of
services provided to WRC clients. Will assist service providers to maintain and improve the
quality and effectiveness of services. Quality assurance monitoring of Adult Day Programs.


NATURE OF WORK:

The QA Specialist for Adult Day Programs will play a key role in Community Services Unit by
identifying and developing services to provide meaningful day activities/work opportunities for
the people we support at Westside Regional Center. The primary responsibilities of the QA

Specialist include, but are not limited to:

  • To plan and develop requests for proposals (RFP) as needed.
  • To coordinate RFP review and interview/selection of committees.
  • To work closely with selected service providers in all aspects of program development.
  • To coordinate Quality Assurance teams (composed of clients, parents, other family
members, WRC staff, Board members and service providers) to evaluate services
provided in Adult Day Programs.

  • To work with program and service providers to develop action plans for the
improvement of program quality as needed.

  • To provide training to staff, clients, families and service providers on quality assurance
issues.

  • To serve as Liaison to the Consumer Advisory Committee of the WRC Board of
Directors and the Day Program Advisory Committee.

  • To coordinate the annual Westside Jam with the Consumer Advisory Committee.
  • To contribute and promote to a fair and positive work environment as well as the
Agency's positive reputation by treating consumers, clients, consultants, peers,
superiors and subordinates, with courtesy, professionalism and respect.

  • To perform related duties as assigned.

Educational Requirements and Skills:


  • Requires a Master's Degree in Human Services and two years of responsible
experience in evaluation and development of programming for persons with
developmental disabilities or a BA/BS Degree with two years; additional experience
may be substituted for the Advanced Degree.

  • Requires familiarity with various standardized evaluation tools and instruments,
licensing and DDS criteria and guidelines.

  • Requires excellent writing skills, knowledge of community resources, the ability to
develop services and experience with providing training.

  • Requires experience in working with service providers and people who have lived in a
developmental center.

  • Requires the ability to communicate clearly and effectively to consumers, families,
consultants, WRC employees and all others when representing the organization.

  • Requires the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and be able to
establish effective working relationships with staff, providers, clients and the public.

  • Requires excellent customer service skills as well as a helpful, professional and
accommodating demeanor.

  • Requires ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion as well as project
ownership in the execution of all duties.

  • Requires excellence in tactful communication, especially as it relates to providing
technical assistance in a usable and positive manner.

  • Requires the ability to prioritize workflow and perform a variety of tasks in a timely
manner.

  • Requires intermediate level computer experience, particularly Microsoft Word, and the

accountability to complete required tasks.

  • Requires knowledge of a wide range of programming for persons with developmental
disabilities, training techniques, resource development, and resources available to
service providers.


SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

This position will primarily be based in the office; however, remote work may also be
available.
