What does a Security Guard - LE do?


Applicants MUST have sworn Law Enforcement or corrections experience as Police Officers, Sheriff's Deputies, or Corrections Officers.
Security Officers assist in building and maintaining a safe environment in a behavioral health facility. They assist in helping prevent clients from causing harm to themselves and others. The assistance can be accomplished through effective communication and redirection.

Security Officers also periodically inspect facilities and conduct safety checks to assess conditions, check for contraband, and identify possible safety hazards.

Security Officer LE skills and qualifications

Security Officers need excellent judgement and decision-making skills to choose the right course of action in confrontational situations.

Additional skills and qualifications that Security Officers require to perform well in their profession include:

• Supervision of clients and activity in our facilities.
• Contributes to the maintenance of facility security.
• Performs safety checks on clients and visitors.
• Checks mail for contraband, such as weapons or drugs.
• Prepares incident reports and other documentation.
• Helps clients follow rules and regulations governing facility security.
• Deescalate confrontations and protect clients and staff.
• Provides emergency assistance as needed, including but not limited to CPR, first aid, escape of inmates, and evacuation procedures.
• Excellent communication skills to interact well with clients and coworkers, and to prepare verbal and written observations and reports
• Ability to maintain composure in challenging situations
• Ability to establish and observe rules and regulations in a facility
• Ability to work effectively as an individual and within a team to support coworkers when needed
• Excellent adaptability in fastpaced, highrisk situations
• Ability to work long hours with frequent standing and walking.

Pay:
From $35.00 per hour


Expected hours:
No more than 40 per week
