Duties:


  • Serve as the primary liaison for Financial Improvement and Audit Readiness Plan (FIAR).
  • Implement Financial Statement Audit (FSA) Readiness controls to ensure compliance.
  • Review key and essential functions to ensure that programs are mission ready and operating in compliance with governing regulations.
  • Review business processes and the programs/systems used to manage and evaluate financial operations.
  • Prepare responses to external assessment findings to ensure the responses correctly identify system operations
  • Advise in the preparation of agenda items; presentations and reports.
  • Perform follow up reviews and/or inspections evaluating the implementation of recommendations.
  • Analyze the effect of remedial measures taken to assure correction of deficiencies.

  • This is a Financial Management Level 2 Certificate position. You will need to obtain the certification within the first 24 months of employment.

  • Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing research and/or analysis of relevant data to ensure the completeness and accuracy of accounting transactions, audit findings, and/or develop remediation plans; reconciling financial statements to audit efficiencies and results to ensure conformity with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) requirements and support management decisions;
  • This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS12)

Education:

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone-no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

  • One year trial/probationary period may be required.

  • A term position is timelimited and may be extended to a maximum of eight years.
  • You will be required to sign a MOU (Memorandum of understanding) for the conditions of the TERM appt.
  • First NTE date will be 13 months, any other extension will be in one year increments.
  • This position is eligible for situational telework, including emergency and OPM prescribed "unscheduled telework" and regular/recurring telework, IAW current ARNG telework policy after date of hire.
