Overview:
The Financial Specialist (Grants) is responsible for the Institute's post-award grant administration and reporting. This staff member provides staff support in the Finance office in the areas of grants and budget.

General activities include collection and preparation of financial data, maintain grant files and mainframe grants database, and prepare budget projections.


Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for all monthly funding changes as well as the annual budget process changes.
  • Responsible for all additions, changes, and/or deletions from the Grants Management system.
  • Prepare, analyze and track all reimbursement billing and payments
  • Manage grants management database. Monitor and maintain accurate records of all outstanding grant receivables.
  • Prepare invoices for grant and subcontract expenditures.
  • Track and analyze all Kirby Center billing and reconciliations.
  • Provide financial reports (Bank Statement, General Ledger, Payroll) for all purposes.
  • Prepare monthly grant revenue transfers for monthend closing.
  • Maintain and update monthly time and effort reports.
  • Prepare journal entries as necessary, including grant closing entries and correcting entries, such as reallocation of expenditures.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION:


  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or Business required. Experience directly related to the duties of this position may be substituted for education requirement.

EXPERIENCE:


  • Must have a minimum of three years' experience in accounting, budgeting, and/or grant accounting.
