***Provide direct patient care services to clients and assist in caring for sick children within the milieu.


Position-this is a non-exempt part-time position. Must be available to work one weekend/month, occasional holidays and as needed as a pediatric psychiatric nurse.


Essential functions

  • Assesses general physical health of all clients
  • Provides crisis management with ability to respond to all medical emergencies
  • Administers medical treatment appropriately
  • Assesses response of children to behavioral and medical interventions
  • Provides clear and concise documentation in nursing progress notes and in appropriate nursing logs or SIRs.
  • Ensures medical charts are accurate and kept up to date
  • Accurately prepares and administers all medications
  • Assesses changes in client's medical and behavioral status and communicates these changes to provider and DON
  • Provides health education to clients
  • Works collaboratively with all members of clients' team including medical team, cottage team, clinical team
  • Assess status of clients during and after physical restraints
  • Advocates for Edgewood clients on healthrelated issues as needed
  • Bills for approved services

Required, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Registered nurse with a current license issued by the California Board of Registered Nursing
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred
  • Current CPR Certification
  • 1 to 2 years of experience working with children or adolescents
  • Ability to work with other treatment team members in a multidisciplinary setting
  • Ability to work autonomously


The hourly rate for this position is $47.50 $52.25 with 10% differentials for up night shifts and threshold language competence.
