    Summary: The Human Resources Specialist Generalist assists in the delivery of responsive and effective Human Resources' services and programs by providing administrative, operational, and coordination support for recruitment, labor relations and general services.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities: including the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    · Collects information and data to assess cost and policy implications of negotiations and disputes. This may include management and union proposals, pay scales and wages, benefits, working conditions, and other mitigating circumstances.

    · Assists with preparation of plans, policies, documents, and reports including EEO-1, affirmative action plans, organizational charts, labor agreements, and employee handbooks.

    · Champions diversity and inclusion initiatives, working to create a diverse workforce and an inclusive workplace culture.

    · Assist department with the hiring process, including submitting job postings online, phone screens and scheduling candidate interviews.

    · Assist the Directors with recruitment efforts by using web-based technologies to boost and support diverse recruiting efforts.

    · Arranges appointments and meetings for Human Resources team.

    · Compiles and prepares reports and spreadsheets.

    · Assist with orienting new employees to the organization including ordering supplies, office arrangements etc.

    · Performs file audits to ensure that all required employee documentation is collected and maintained including confidential employee medical and personnel files.

    · Arranges travel logistics for applicants when necessary.

    · Assist with special projects, events, and meetings.

    · Maintain and update Human Resources checklists, employee handbook and other Human Resources-related documents.

    · Transcribe meeting minutes/notes in various settings including Labor Management Meetings, grievance hearings and labor relations strategy meetings.

    · Assists with preparation of documents and records required for contract negotiations, meetings, and negotiations with employee and the Union.

    · Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate HR staff.

    · Maintains knowledge and understanding of laws and regulations related to EEO, affirmative action, collective bargaining, unions, labor relations, and human resources.

    · Maintains exceptionally high degrees of confidentiality and discretion in all matters related to this position.

    · Proficiency with Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) databases, and ability to learn new programs quickly.

    · Proficiency with web-based technologies and recruiting platforms.

    · Detail-oriented self-starter with ability to prioritize projects, work within short time frames and meet deadlines.

    · Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

    · Customer focused mind-set.

    · Ability to maintain exceptionally high degrees of confidentiality and discretion in all matters related to this position.

    · Ability to navigate high stress situations.

    · Must maintain security clearance as a condition of continued employment.

    · Must maintain an active driver's license and remain insurable.

    Education/Experience:

    · Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field required.

    · A minimum of three (3) years' experience working in an administrative role in a human resources department.
