Description

Quality Assurance (QA)

  • Serves as the leader coordinating monthly QA meetings and gathers relevant QA data from different laboratory divisions.
  • Ensures compliance with laboratory quality management system (QMS) within the different laboratory divisions.
  • Implements and oversees evaluation of continuous quality improvement (CQI) initiatives.
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory agencies and leads the laboratories in interim selfinspections and external inspections.
  • Instructs and trains laboratory staff on QA methods, procedures, and regulatory matters, where appropriate.
  • Authors QA and regulatory standard operating procedures and documents.
  • Ensures laboratory variance reporting is completed and identifies trends or events that require root cause analysis and corrective action.
  • Oversees the maintenance of laboratory personnel files and competency training documentation for laboratory personnel.
  • Collects and collates data, analyzes trends, summarizes improvement initiatives and reports monthly to the leadership team.
  • Assists in compliance audits and the annual evaluation of the quality management program; writes the annual effectiveness report.

Safety:


  • Serves as the laboratory safety officer and must qualify as a Chemical Hygiene Officer. (OSHA)
  • Coordinates required safety training and maintains training documentation for laboratory staff and physicians.

Process Improvement:


  • Implementation and assessment of laboratory process improvement projects for critical laboratory areas.

Collaborates with the UF Laboratory System

  • Works collaboratively with other QA staff from other UF laboratories.

Other duties as assigned

Expected Salary:

Starting salary is between $75,000 - $90,000


Minimum Requirements:


Master's degree in an appropriate area and five years of relevant experience; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and seven years of relevant experience.

Experience should include experience in health care quality or performance improvement programs.


Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology or equivalent and five years of appropriate experience.

  • Must have the knowledge and experience to qualify as an OSHA Chemical Hygiene Officer.
  • Detailed knowledge of Quality Assessment and Improvement sufficient to oversee quality assurance for clinical and anatomical laboratories.
  • Detailed knowledge of regulatory requirements including: CAP, JCAHO, AHCA, HCFA, and OSHA.
