Description

Board Certified Behavior Analyst: 212, 7.5 hours a day, 5 days a week.

Valley Collaborative is a Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education approved public school entity.

We provide high quality academic, therapeutic and vocational services to individuals referred by local school districts and social service agencies.

We also provide ongoing professional development and training experiences for educators and educational agencies. Recognizing that the educational environment rapidly changes, Valley Collaborative creates, adapts, and provides flexible programming to address evolving needs. We provide an environment within which students and others can maximize educational and/or occupational skills.

By sharing its resources with multiple school districts and social service agencies, its programs maintain superior quality and reasonable costs to those it serves, by meeting or exceeding state standards, and achieving economies of scale.


Qualifications:

Board Certified as a Behavior Analyst.
Master's Degree.

Competency working with individuals with various diagnoses that may exhibit complex emotional and behavioral needs.

Ability to utilize behavior analytic practices in new and creative ways and a willingness to continue to learn new research and approaches within our field.

Ability to collaborate with teachers, staff, and parents to implement behavior support plans and oversee implementation of plans

Responsibilities:


Staff relations:

Train staff and demonstrate hands-on behavioral interventions.
Provide training to direct care staff on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis.

Collaborate with teachers, staff, to implement specific behavior support plans, oversee implementation of treatment plans
Attend and collaborate at IEP / clinical meetings to provide behavioral, social and academic guidance.

Have experience and training in de-escalation/physical intervention strategies
Communicate effectively with all team members in order to produce effective results for the students

Have strong written and verbal communication skill
Demonstrated ability to approach individuals in a creative and thoughtful manner

Flexibility to meet identified student needs
Have a strong commitment to the goals, mission, and philosophy of the organization

Model respect, honesty, consideration, responsibility, and positive attitude with both peers and students
Participate in staff meetings and in-service training as requested

Provide transportation for students in Collaborative vehicles, when necessary

Student Relations:

Stabilize student behavior; involvement in ongoing treatment.

Formulate & implement Behavior Support Plans, oversee the evaluation of these plans, provide feedback to ensure consistency.
Conduct independent evaluations of specific programs/placements.

Write, implement, and update behavior plans to increase desired behaviors.
Write yearly IEP goals and corresponding quarterly progress notes

Respond appropriately based upon student's age, developmental level/disability.
Support student movement towards competency & model pro-social behavior.

Provide direct support, engagement and extension of student's learning experience by offering assistance, and providing additional materials or resources to care givers as needed.
Attend staff meetings, weekly team meetings for each classroom, and training as required

Travel, as required
All other duties as assigned.


Physical Demands:

Constant standing or walking.
Requires ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Bends, reaches, lifts, carries, twists, pushes, pulls, and handles equipment when performing duties.
Able to reach and operate equipment and systems safely and effectively.

Engages in Safetycare approved management tasks.

Other Competencies (skills, abilities, behavior):
Ability to understand and follow both written and oral instructions. Adaptability to perform routine, repetitive tasks within a specific period of time. Prioritizes work assignments to be completed within time requirements.

Must demonstrate a positive and caring attitude toward students, clients, and staff. Must remain flexible and adaptable in order to meet department needs.
