PAY GRADE/DUTY DAYS:
$28 per hour

Supplemental-Part Time (maximum of 14 hours a week until March 14, 2025)


JOB PURPOSE SUMMARY:


The Prekindergarten Coach will provide on the job support that focuses on the development of specific early childhood education knowledge, skills, or practices that can be used in daily work with children.

This includes effective coaching which is implemented cyclically over a designated time frame.


KEY FUNCTIONS, ESSENTIAL DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Curriculum Implementation and Instructional Management_
  • Facilitate implementation of innovative instructional programs. Assist teachers in utilizing student data to identify students in need of interventions.
  • Lead/Support Prekindergarten Professional Learning Communities.
  • Model effective classroom management for teachers.
  • Use holistic data to drive instructional programs in prekindergarten.
  • Model exemplary use of digital resources across multiple curricular areas.
  • Analyze and disaggregate assessment data to improve instruction.
  • Assist teachers identified as struggling in areas of instructional strategies, planning, and classroom management.
  • Use effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly.

Compliance:_

  • Adhere to the district's philosophy of instruction. Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of the district's curriculum program and campus planning and instructional initiatives and show written evidence of preparation as required.
  • Assist in district and statemandated assessments.
  • Provide onsite training, modeling, and coaching for teaching.
  • Provide professional development to promote understanding and implementation of Pre-K guidelines, district curriculum, and best practices.
  • Document all coaching hours for assigned Pre-K teachers.
  • Performs all duties and tasks in a manner consistent with all applicable policies, procedures, and practices within the Department and District, with all applicable local, state, and federal regulatory requirements, as well as with all applicable guidelines, standards, and requirements as set forth by governing bodies including, without limitation, Texas Health & Human Services, Texas Education Code, State Board of Education, Texas Education Agency, and Texas Association of School Boards.
  • Fulfills all applicable Texas statemandated continuing professional education requirements applicable to the credentialing requirements of the job.
  • Demonstrates applicable standards and practices of professional conduct and care in the performance of the job function.
  • Monitors respective work activity, and the work activity of others, for variances and anomalies.
  • Identifies and timely reports any known or suspected compliance issues to appropriate personnel.
  • Participates, as assigned, in audits and in the preparation for audits, whether initiated internally or externally.
  • Adheres to all other Districtwide policies and procedures including, but not limited to, human resources, safety, and emergency protocols.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & CREDENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Valid Texas Teacher-Early Childhood Generalist Certification
  • High Qualified PreK Teacher Status, preferred
  • Early Childhood degree, preferred
  • Bilingual, preferred
  • Certification must meet the requirements for becoming and remaining qualified for this position in a manner required by Federal and/or State law
