Oni-Orisan Lab
- Junior Specialist
Department of Clinical Pharmacy
University of California, San Francisco
The Oni-Orisan Lab at UCSF's Department of Clinical Pharmacy and the Institute for Human Genetics is has two major interests that fall within our overarching research mission.
We seek to hire junior or associate specialist(s) to assist our team to generate, manage, and analyze large datasets containing electronic health records, genomic data, drug regimens, and clinical outcomes.
Responsibilities include generating drug response phenotypes (e.g., develop the genotype /phenotype), constructing longitudinal data sets for further analyses, generating visualization plots to characterize the data, conducting the inferential statistics, and preparing/analyzing all requested data analytics, as well as archiving code for future use.
Appointees in the Specialist series will be expected to engage in specialized research, professional activities and do not have teaching responsibilities.
Specialists are expected to use their professional expertise to make scientific and scholarly contributions, and may participate in University and Public Service.
Required Qualifications
- Junior Specialist
- BA/BS (or equivalent degree) in Biology, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field or at least four years of research experience.
- Assistant Specialist
- Master's degree
OR a bachelor's degree in Biology, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field with three or more years of research experience. - Six months of experience in a research setting (can be during educational activities).
- Ability to manage time and multitask effectively.
- Experience coding in Python and/or R environments.
- Thorough skills associated with statistical analysis and programming
- Proficiency in statistics, data analysis, research methods and statistical packages such as SPSS, SAS, and/or R, or a related package
- Knowledge of large dataset management, data analysis, data visualization (preferably KPRB, All of Us, MVP)
- Prior experience constructing complex, longitudinal data sets, conducting inferential statistics, and related coding.
- Skills to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner both verbally and in writing
- Ability to adhere to all campus safely policies.
Preferred Qualifications
- MA/MS (or equivalent degree) in Biology, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field.
