Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Lead Line Cook / Sous Chef to join our vibrant culinary team. In this role, you will be instrumental in preparing high-quality dishes, overseeing kitchen operations, and ensuring an exceptional dining experience for our guests. Your expertise in food preparation, menu planning, and kitchen management will drive the success of our culinary offerings. Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes with precision, consistency, and attention to detail, adhering to established recipes and presentation standards
- Assist in menu planning and development to ensure diverse, innovative, and seasonally appropriate offerings
- Supervise daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, plating, and food handling procedures
- Maintain strict food safety standards and ensure compliance with health regulations at all times
- Train, mentor, and support kitchen staff to enhance their culinary skills and promote teamwork
- Oversee inventory management, including ordering supplies and minimizing waste
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the kitchen environment in accordance with safety protocols
Requirements
- Proven experience in food service environments with a strong background in restaurant or fine dining settings
- Extensive culinary experience with excellent knife skills and proficiency in food preparation techniques
- Prior leadership experience as a sous chef or lead line cook is highly desirable
- Knowledge of dietary department practices and dietary aide experience is a plus
- Skilled in menu planning, meal preparation, catering, and serving processes
- Strong understanding of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality and presentation
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative attitude to foster team success
