Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Assist in menu planning by providing input on ingredient availability and seasonal offerings.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering strictly to food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Handle food with care, following proper food handling procedures to prevent contamination.
- Support catering events by preparing large quantities of dishes while maintaining presentation standards.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders and smooth kitchen operations.
- Use knife skills proficiently for chopping, slicing, dicing, and other food preparation tasks to ensure efficiency.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment, preferably with fine dining experience.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and kitchen safety protocols.
- Familiarity with dietary department practices and dietary aide experience is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability in menu planning, meal preparation, and food handling procedures.
- Excellent knife skills and attention to detail in food presentation.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced setting while maintaining high standards.
- Experience in catering or large-scale food service operations is advantageous.
