    Summary

    This position is within the Department of Homeland Security, . Coast Guard, Coast Guard Counterintelligence Service (CGCIS), a component of the Assistant Commandant for Intelligence (CG-2), located at Coast Guard Headquarters in Washington, . The incumbent serves as a Cyber Counterintelligence Analyst, directed and managed by the Director of CGCIS through the CGCIS Deputy Assistant Director for Analysis and Production.

    Duties

    You will serve as an Intelligence Research Specialist in cyberspace threats, with responsibility for conducting research, analysis, and liaison work with other intelligence and law enforcement agencies on topics of relevance to the . Coast Guard.

    Being a CG civilian makes you a valuable member of the team. Typical work assignments include:

  • Serving as a Cyber Counterintelligence threat analyst, responsible for all-source analysis of foreign intelligence entity threats posed by foreign cyber actors against Coast Guard and . national security interests. Conducting tactical, operational and strategic level analysis in support of various CGCIS missions and provides tactical analysis in support of counterintelligence operations.
  • Producing analytic assessments, reports, and briefings regarding topics of cyber significance impacting Coast Guard personnel, assets, operations, and information.
  • Producing products informing Coast Guard and Intelligence Community stakeholders of counterintelligence anomalies, efforts by foreign intelligence entities to compromise Coast Guard programs and operations, and counterintelligence trends, threats, and intelligence gaps. Producing products that comply with Intelligence Community Directive (ICD) 203: "Analytic Standards," ICD 206: "Sourcing Requirements for Disseminated Analytic Products," and ICD 208: "Write for Maximum Utility.
  • Providing authoritative and technical decisions regarding controversial topics. Prioritizing and scheduling analytic production in support of customer requirements, and coordinate and collaborate with relevant Intelligence Community, law enforcement, and private industry organizations to collect and share information, as necessary. Participating in the collection management process and evaluate Intelligence Community reporting as part of the intelligence cycle.
  • Maintaining a close working relationship with counterparts on cyber threat matters. As a CGCIS cyber threat analyst, coordinate, liaison, and collaborate with subject matter experts at other Coast Guard intelligence production centers, as well as Intelligence Community, law enforcement, and private industry organizations to collect and share information impacting Coast Guard interests. Coordinating cyber analytic efforts with CGCIS personnel located across the country to promote unity of effort and synergy.
