BLOCK BY BLOCK is currently seeking to hire a Pressure Washer/Cleaning Ambassador. This position is a hybrid, you will be cleaning outside and spending part of the time pressure washing when needed. We have a couple of conditions though. You have to have a great attitude, a good work ethic, and like to have fun. We want you to want to come to work. We want you to have safe fun.

Our Pressure Washer Technician is expected to provide a high level of visibility on the street to carry out a wide variety of tasks that improve the overall appearance of the service district they are assigned to.

They must also understand this position will also be a Cleaning Ambassador.

Tasks assigned will include but are not limited to:

Operating various equipment to pressure wash, vacuum, paint, remove gum, and clean sidewalks for pedestrian use and enjoy. Our Pressure Washers clean and sanitize the filth, graffiti and grime from the sidewalks, and making it a more enjoyable place to live, work, and play.

Other Essential Functions:

OBSERVE AND REPORT - while on patrol and washing, pressure washers are watchful for unwanted behaviors or criminal activity and report to safety associates via two-way radios. Pressure washers must be able to articulate an accurate description of persons, vehicles, and other similar identifiers.

HOSPITALITY AND CUSTOMER SERVICE - while on patrol and washing, pressure washers actively acknowledge pedestrians with a friendly greeting or identify visitors in order to provide directions, information, city information or recommendations.

REPORTING - pressure washers must be able to provide written reports of broken infrastructure, graffiti on private property, and provide a basic daily report of accomplishments and tasks completed. This position is akin to a "Special Projects" position, so we need people that can keep track of work orders and ensure that any broken handrails or important public safety hazards are documented and reported.

PROFESSIONALISM - pressure washers must maintain a positive, professional environment in full compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and overall Block by Block standards of expected professionalism

Physical Requirements - pressure washers frequently lift, carry or otherwise move and position objects weighting 60 to 100 lbs. They frequently bend, kneel and crouch. They frequently use repetitive movement of hands, arms and legs, sweeping, moping and pushing/lifting. Pressure washers may drive a vehicle if needed. They are continuously traversing and moving about. Pressure washers are exposed to adverse weather conditions, hazardous chemicals, odors, dirt and dust.
