Description

This position will analyze, research, design, develop, implement, and evaluate effective instruction, including course curricula and instructional support materials for trainings related to Department of Development Services (DDS) workforce development initiatives for Direct Service Professionals (DSPs) who provide services and supports for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) in California.

Coordinate with and review training materials drafted by employees and/or contractor(s) for the DSP University Training Program to ensure the competency-based tiered training curriculum and continuing education is in alignment with California's Core Competency areas.

  • The California Department of Developmental Services (DDS) is the agency through which the State of California provides services and supports to individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • These disabilities include intellectual disability, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, autism and related conditions. Services are provided through stateoperated developmental centers and community facilities, and contracts with 21 nonprofit regional centers. The regional centers serve as a local resource to help find and access the services and supports available to individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.
  • Special Requirements

The Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) must be typed in 12-point Arial font, single spaced with 1" margins, be no more than two pages in length, and address the questions in sequential order indicating the number of the question being answered. Applicants who fail to answer the questions or submit an SOQ may not be considered.**
