Human Resources Representative


Assignment type: 13 weeks contract, 100% onsite

Location: 7677 Oakport Street Suite 1200, Oakland, CA 94621

Pay Rate:
$25/Hour


Contract: 13 Week

Shift:
Day 5x8-Hour (08:00 - 17:00)


Job Summary:

Responsible for the day-to-day administration of the Workers' Compensation program, covering all sites/campuses within the system.


Roles and Responsibilities:


  • Administers ergonomic program; arranges onsite ergonomic assessments; facilitates, when requested, ergonomic equipment requests and invoicing.
  • Administers organization's workers' compensation program; acts as central point of contact for third party vendors, managers, providers and employees for workers' compensation issues and inquiries.
  • Administers the workers' compensation claim lifecycle; such as creates, monitors and follows up on changes in employee status, including the maintenance of case documentation and maintaining contact with employee as needed making determination on employee's eligibility to return to work (full/modified duty etc.).
  • Attends and participates in various committees, including Environment of Care, workers compensation claim reviews etc.
  • Coordinates with department timekeepers and Payroll in the payment of benefits to qualified employees.
  • Focuses on reduction of Lost Days by returning employee to modified duty as soon as possible following an industrial injury.
  • Meets regularly with leadership to provide status updates and next steps re employee progress.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Prepares reports and provides analysis etc., to "high utilization" departments.
  • Provide initial training and continuous guidance to leadership, on Workers' Compensation process.
  • Visits campuses, makes rounds, assessing for safety issues and works to mitigate workplace injuries through various training and education.

Requirements:

Three years experience in one of the following fields:

  • workers' compensation, leave management, insurance/risk management, human resources management, public administration, occupational health or a related field.
