Position Summary/Purpose of Position:


  • The Program and Business Development Coordinator (PBD Coordinator) supports and coordinates activities of the Quantum Startup Foundry (QSF) in the University of Maryland Office of Vice President for Research. QSF is an accelerator focused on quantum technology startups. PBD Coordinator works with QSF staff to coordinate existing QSF programs. PBD Coordinator] helps ideate and develop new proposals for attractive programming targeting QSF accelerator participants and prospects. PBD Coordinator works with the QSF team to formulate strategic objectives of proposed programs, design approved programs for maximum impact, develop procedures and policies applicable to those programs, and coordinates their execution. PDB Coordinator develops and nurtures relationships with quantum technology startups interested in QSF programming or collaboration with QSF, other quantum hubs and their accelerators, and quantum groups on and off campus. This position will report to the Director of QSF. I
    t is a oneyear contract fulltime position.

Minimum Qualifications:


Education:


  • A bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Experience may be substituted on a yearforyear basis.

Experience:


  • Three or more years of related experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


  • Selfmotivated and able to selfstart and selfdirect;
  • Ability to execute and innovate programs supporting technology startups;
  • Ability to develop and cultivate relationships;
  • Ability to relate to and communicate with a wide variety of audiences to articulate QSF priorities, accomplishments, and aspirations;
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a large university and with other constituents of Maryland technology entrepreneurship network;
  • Comfort with ambiguity, uncertainty, and ability to rapidly adapt to changing conditions.
  • Ability to solicit and close sponsorships.

Preferences:

  • Master's Degree or MBA
  • Master's Degree in STEM
  • Demonstrated ability to take on a complex project from an idea through conceptualization and design, to successful execution.
  • Exposure to startup or startup incubator or accelerator environment
  • Exposure to quantum technologies or other deep technology fields.
  • Basic level understanding of how quantum technologies work.
