Magnetic Component Engineering ("MCE"), a subsidiary of Dexter Magnetic Technologies ("Dexter"), manufactures permanent magnets and magnetic assemblies made to demanding customer specification in the aerospace / defense, semiconductor equipment, medical, and industrial end markets.
Position is responsible for ensuring all aspects of the plant, facilities, production equipment and systems are properly maintained and supports a productive and safe manufacturing operation.
Major Responsibilities:

- Monitor the operation of plant equipment and systems and ensure that all maintenance activities are appropriately carried out to minimize unplanned downtime.
- Maintain building security and upkeep, utilizing lease agreement knowledge to ensure compliance with terms and responsibility for repairs.
- Solve machine/asset downtime problems quickly and effectively communicate status to Operations Management.
- Diagnose issues, plans, and performs mechanical operations necessary to modify, dismantle, repair, overhaul, and rebuild difficult and complicated machine tools.
- Determine the preventive maintenance schedule for all machines and equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair machine shop equipment including mills, lathes, drills, surface and rotary grinders, plunge EDM and wire EDM.
- Schedule, plan, and implement tear down, relocation, and setup of machinery and equipment within specific timeline parameters.
- Coordinate with other supervisors, managers, and employees at all levels to prioritize maintenance and repair work and ensure commonality of purpose and direction.
- Keep a record of all maintenance and service activities conducted by effectively maintaining a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for tracking work orders, spare parts, and plant maintenance history.
- File purchase orders and other documentations for the procurement of spare and replacement parts.
- Authorize and monitor parts request(s) to ensure adequate inventory and cost efficiencies are being met according to department budget.
- Maintain all plans, procedures, SOPs, and all other documentation necessary for safe and proper performance of preventive maintenance activities.
- Monitor and analyze PM reports, work orders and employee feedback to optimize effective and efficient PM procedures, planning, and scheduling.
- Coordinate with appropriate organizations and outside vendors to ensure current information is available and documented as part of the performance of PM procedures.
- Coordinate with outside vendors to schedule and complete safety, mechanical, electrical, construction and other building and plant equipment maintenance, installation, and repair.
- Coordinate general renovations of existing facilities and repairs, such as, painting, patching walls, security hardware, hanging shelves, and landscaping.
- Manage permits and other documentation required for the processing of safety requirements, such as Lockout-Tagout, confined space, and electrical safety.
- Provides recommendations and documentation for plantrelated expense and capital equipment.
- Maintain files of warranties, records, licenses, inspections, service agreements, and contracts for various pieces of equipment.
- Serve as EH&S Coordinator and maintain all safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures; comply with all safety norms and regulations set by the industry.
- Determine all EH&S requirements and establish an action plan to make sure the plant follows those requirements.
- Establish an activity report for EH&S compliance and related issues that need resolution.
- Maintain logs, records, certificates, and other forms of documentation required by ISO, DOT, EPA, or internal Dexter procedures.
- Perform other duties as required.
Salary Range:
$95,000-$100,000
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Associate degree in Administration, Management or equivalent combination of education or experience; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Requires 5 years of experience as a maintenance technician or supervisor with handson maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of most machine shop equipment including mills, lathes, drills, surface and rotary grinders, plunge EDM, and wire EDM.
- Demonstrated experience to tearing down, relocating, and setting up plant operations, machinery, and equipment within specific schedule parameters.
- Demonstrated experience to supporting a longterm maintenance plan showing year over year improvement in reliability, maintenance KPI's, and maintenance cost.
