Job Summary:


As a Staff Dining Attendant at Regent Santa Monica, you will play a vital role in assisting with preparation, transport, and service of food and beverage items in the employee cafeteria ensuring a high level of quality and consistency.

Maintain sanitation and cleanliness standards in the cafeteria and food prep areas that meet the state and local Health Board inspection and hotel requirements.


A little bit about your day:
Reporting to the Kitchen Manager, every day is different, but you will mostly:

  • Promote Regent's service philosophy and style through our people attributes.
  • Maintain impeccable personal grooming standards to uphold the professional and property style of the resort.
  • Serve cold food and batch items including salads, cold drinks and desserts; follow food preparation and usage instructions to minimize waste.
  • Transport prepared food from kitchen to cafeteria; set up all stations which may include soup, salad, beverage, bread, hot food buffet, etc. Replenish stations as needed throughout shift.
  • Perform associated opening, closing and prep work duties.
  • Ensure adequate supply of trays, plates, utensils, napkins, condiments, and other cafeteria supplies to serve all hotel employees.
  • Wipe down chairs and tables; sweep or mop floors; bus tables; empty trash containers; clean cafeteria equipment such as coffee makers, microwaves and steam tables; and ensure general cleanliness of cafeteria on a regular basis.
  • Maintain a clean, neat and wellorganized work area, including but not limited to reachins, walkins and counters. Report all unsafe or malfunctioning equipment, safety hazards, or maintenance problems to management.
  • May greet, seat, and/or serve meals to employees based on established procedures.
  • Willingness to help and support other areas of the kitchen if needed.

What We need from you:


  • High school diploma or equivalent education.
  • Familiarity with proper dishwashing and sanitation procedures.
  • Basic food handling and prep skills are a plus.
  • Strong communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment.
  • Carrying or lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, stoop, and bend repetitively.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations and willingness to follow established protocols.
  • Flexible schedule, able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

What you can expect from us:
The hourly pay range for this role is
$24.52 to $30.65. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed at
Regent Santa Monica Beach.

This is the lowest to highest pay scale we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting.

We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future.

A colleague's pay position within the pay range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs.
