Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Billing Specialist to join our team.In this role, you will be responsible for managing the entire medical billing process, from claims submission to payment posting, ensuring that healthcare providers are reimbursed accurately and promptly for their services.
Responsibilities:
Claims Submission:
Accurately prepare and submit medical claims to insurance companies. Ensure that claims meet Local Coverage Determination criteria for each diagnosis and procedure code.
Charge Capture:
Collect and process information required for billing, ensuring all services provided are documented and billed correctly.
Payment Posting:
Verify and post electronic remittance advice (ERA) and explanation of benefits (EOB) payments accurately. Follow up on outstanding balances and discrepancies.
Denial Management:
Analyze and resolve denied claims by identifying coding errors, billing errors, and coverage issues. Resubmit corrected claims and handle appeals when necessary.
Patient Billing:
Generate patient statements and follow up on patient balances. Provide clear explanations of charges and balances due. Handle patient payments through phone or web portal as needed.
Client Help Desk Support:
Provide personalized support to healthcare practices regarding billing inquiries, claim statuses, and payment issues. Ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices.
EFT Setup:
Assist with the setup of Electronic Remittance Advice (ERA) and Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) with payers to streamline payment processes.
Qualifications:
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing or a related field.
Knowledge:
Familiarity with medical billing software, ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding. Understanding of healthcare billing regulations and insurance processes.
Skills:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Certification in Medical Billing and Coding is preferred but not mandatory.
Technical Proficiency:
Proficient in the use of billing software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
Pay:
$ $24.76 per hour
