BioTalent has partnered with a biotechnology business based in San Diego who are looking for a Principal Scientist with a focus on proteomics.

This is an ideal position for an expert in proteomics that is keen to work within an innovative organisation with potential to grow into a line management role.

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement innovative techniques for the preparation of peptide libraries from the digestion of proteins isolated from a diverse set of sample inputs.
Utilize a range of techniques, including chemical synthesis, mass spectroscopy, and molecular biology, to prepare proteins and peptides from different samples.
Optimize existing and develop new protein library preparation methods to ensure reproducibility, robustness, and scalability.
Analyze complex scientific data using statistical methods and software tools to make data-driven decisions, continually enhancing protocols and system performance.

Requirements:

Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biophysics, Chemistry, Chemical Biology, Proteomics, Analytical Chemistry or related field.
Extensive experience in proteomics, specifically with protein variants, post-translational modification (PTM), immunopeptidomics, protein quantitation, and biomarker discovery.
Experience with various proteomic methods, such as gel electrophoresis and liquid chromatography (LC-MS/MS, MALDI-TOF)
Strong analytical aptitude with expertise in data interpretation and statistical analysis.
