Job Summary:

Serves as an integral part of the People Services team.

This position will be responsible for including but not limited to the complete processing of conditional, new hires and rehires as per agency processes.

These processes will include all background checks as required by NYS and Federal regulations, notification of clearances to work, maintenance of electronic and physical personnel records, garnishments, unemployment notices, and work authorizations.

Thoroughly understands the need for confidentiality in the department and its records. Demonstrates effective written and verbal communication skills necessary to complete assignments. Utilizes interpersonal skills to develop and maintain effective working relationships. Must be able to work independently with minimum supervision. Maintains a safe, orderly work environment, and performs other duties as requested or required. Knows and follows agency policies and procedures. Ensures compliance in all areas as required by federal, state, and agency regulations. Provides notifications to participants, circles of support, internal stakeholders and conditional/ new hires with clearance to work. This position may be a remote position after training.

It is a full-time at 35 hours per week, includes a 4-day work week either Monday-Thursday or Tuesday - Friday.

Special Requirements for Position:


  • Completion of all mandatory training sessions.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced office, attention to detail.

Duties & Essential Elements (not inclusive):

  • Responsible for processing Conditional hires/New hires and rehires for Support Staff, Paid Neighbors, Live-in Caregivers, Self-Hired/IDGS, and transfer cases.
  • Responsible for weekly follow-up to assigned recruiting and onboarding process
  • Review work authorization notices and contact employees for follow-up.
  • Back-up phone coverage for the People Services Department.
  • Responds as needed to unemployment notices.
  • Job code activation and deactivation in agency software.
  • Maintains and ensures necessary electronic and physical personnel files are complete and up to date.
  • Processes various forms needed to complete per form type as needed and requested by supervisor.
  • Answers routine and complex questions from staff regarding personnel policies and procedures. Refers questions or concerns to supervisor and maintains communication with supervisor about personnel issues arising.
  • Performs other duties as requested or required.

Pay:
From $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
