Job Summary
The General Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire plant operation that processes raw materials into high quality products, ensuring that equipment & buildings are sanitary and in good repair.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities

- Manages safety program and is ultimately responsible for plant safety; maintains safety as top priority in accordance with all company safety rules and regulations.
- Responsible for the development of the management staff including Office Manager, Plant Manager and others who impact the performance of the facility.
- Ensures facility compliance with Corporate policies, procedures, and objectives.
- Responsible for compliance with all food safety regulations.
- Develops, implements, and monitors annual plant budget; reviews monthly expenditures
- Recruits and hires plant, fleet, and administrative personnel; selects participants for management training program.
- Responsible for proper training of all employees.
- Maintains efficient and timely flow of all raw materials received and finished protein meal shipped.
- Monitors performance of individuals to ensure that procedures are being held to highest standards.
- Plan stock orders to minimize time and money spent on emergency ordering.
- Responsible for all the equipment and buildings that are used to process raw material.
- Conducts investigation of accidents that occur on site.
- All other duties as assigned.
Minimum
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum 5 or more years of experience in a midlevel management position in an industrial or plant setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in industrial engineering, operations management or agribusiness field preferred.
- Experience in the areas of continuous improvement, including 5S, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing concepts a definite plus.
- Leadership ability, able to direct personnel; makes timely, accurate judgments regarding production and process quality.
- Experience working in Microsoft Office Suite as well as an ERP system (ex. Oracle, SAP).
- Detail oriented; highly organized.
- Ability to work well with internal staff.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
- Selfstarter; selfmotivated.
- Good math and computer skills.
